Spotlight’s Spotlight
Spotlight Post is a post-production video service company proudly based out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Our mission is simple: help you celebrate your loved ones. We do that through our Spotlights— personalized video tributes, using photos and videos sent in by you. Each video aims to capture the heart & essence of your loved one— and maybe get a few laughs and more tears while we’re at it.
Spotlight Post was started by Maxwell Root, a seasoned video editor and content creator born and raised in OKC. After recieving his bachelor’s degree at the University of Oklahoma in Creative Media Production, Max quickly moved to Austin, Texas, where he joined a new-age, online media company called NewScape Studios. While there, Max quickly climbed the professional ladder, starting as a video editor and quickly being promoted to a Team Lead; the first to do so in his department. As a manager, he created and directed multiple family-friendly YouTube channels, growing them from 0 to over 1,000,000 subscribers and 400+ million views. As well as direction, Max provided his writing, filming, and voice acting talents.
Max left NewScape Studios in 2023 to pursue his own independent interests. The same year, Cosmic Treehouse Media was created, an online production company specializing in freelance voice acting, YouTube consulting, and independent media creation.
After some major life changes, Max found himself moving back to Oklahoma City. Quickly after settling into his hometown, he began work on a tribute video for his dad’s 60th birthday. Family, friends, & colleagues sent in selfie videos explaining their love and admiration for him, and Max compiled these and family photos into a kinetic, heartfelt video celebrating his dad.
Suffice to say, Max’s dad was blown away.
“This literally changes my outlook on life. I never knew people felt this way about me…” he said, after watching the video on repeat for a week straight.
From here, Max’s next move seemed so obvious: create a company that can give that feeling to other people’s loved ones. Life is so hard already, and today’s media landscape wants to scare & shock its viewers. Max wanted to change that, in his own little way.

This company really is made out of a genuine want to make people happy.
